Really good news: Amazon has been completely refurbished and is back in action. Under the guidance of Ralph Spring, the engineers did a marvellous job and, following extensive testing, it is now in active service. In fact, Amazon looks and feels like a brand new boat, having been re-painted and fitted with a new engine plus modern controls. The fuel tank and battery are now both well protected in aft lockers, giving more space to OOD teams and rescue crews. The sound-proofing around the engine works very well and is a great safety feature when communicating with people in the water or on other boats. A plea to everyone: please carry on looking after Amazon and she will give us many more years of excellent service!
