Club Boats

picos-row300

The Club is keen to help new members into what we consider to be a great sport. We are fundamentally an owners club but the club has a small number of boats that are avaliable for hire in time periods ranging from half a day upwards.

We have:

  • 8 Oppies
  • 6 Picos
  • 1 Enterprise
  • 1 Laser

Fees for 2010

£ Half Day Full Day Race Series 12 Months
Oppie 5.00 7.50 40.00
Pico 5.00 7.50 80
Laser 10.00 15.00 90.00
Enterprise 10.00 15.00 90.00

The fleet and all the bookings are looked after by Roger McCartney. Roger will be very pleased to help with bookings and also to receive payments for the use of the boats or answer questions about accessing the equipment. Please do book the use of boats in advance. Please also note that these fees (eg annual fees) do not cover exclusive use of the boat unless booked for a specific race series or time. Currently pre-booking does not apply to the Oppies but if you are planning to use one, please check that it does not clash with any training courses.

Booking Club Boats Print E-mail

Club boat bookings are managed through Google Calendar. Google Calendar allows resources - in this case the club boats - to be booked by other Google Calendar users if they are not allready being used.

The process does require that users have Google Calendar accounts but these are free, easily access over the internet and require no extra software.

The Booking Process

  1. The first step is to get a Google Calendar account if you don't allready have one (or a Google Apps account) and sign in. Help can be found here.
  2. Once you're in you should see a 'Create event' button near the top left.
    createevent

  3. Next you should see a larger screen for the details of the booking.

Please follow steps 1 to 5.

The bit that looks like a long email address (not the bit in bold) is the bit you need to copy & paste into the grey guest box in Google Calendar.
  4. That's it! In your Google Calendar you should see the booking, and on the ASC website you should also see it.
  5. If you need to change or delete it, please just edit the event in you Calendar.
