You might suggest that the Laser fleet is a pretty hot fleet, and of course I'd have to agree, but the fleet has embarked on a two day training programme this year under the RYA's Activate your Laser Fleet programme. The two busy days led by RYA Regional Club Coach Ben Iliffe focused on a wide range of key skills - roll tacks and gybes - mark rounding - where to sit - rig tuning and starting. A one point there was strong animal feel as one part of the 14  strong fleet performed 'elephants ears' while the others were doing 'rabbit starts' (hard in Aldenham's wind shifts).  I'm sure though that none of us will miss the calls to do another practise 360 degree turn - as we certainly lost count of those!! We all left with a strong feeling of time well spent and a desire to hold on to as much of the information as possible. Many thanks to Ben, and the organisers Mike & Simon.
